Winter Classical

Postponed Until Further Notice

L'amour, L'amour... Love!

Join the MSO for a romantic evening of classic French selections that will warm your heart. Special guest artist, cellist Scott Kluksdahl will flood the concert hall with the rich, mellow sounds of Saint-Saens and transport you to a tumultuously romantic Parisian world.

Make the evening a great date night by pairing the symphony with dinner at one of our patterning downtown restaurants: Weidmann's, Harvest Grill, or Brickhaus Brewtique.

UPDATE 01/05/2021:

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Meridian Symphony Association has prioritized the health and safety of our community. On the heels of the first two concerts of our historic 60th Anniversary Season, the Meridian Symphony Association regrets to inform the community that our upcoming Winter Classical concert, scheduled for January 16th, has been postponed until further notice.

This decision has been made by the Meridian Symphony Association and the MSU Riley Center after much consideration and ongoing discussion with leading local medical professionals. Based on data provided by the Mississippi Department of Health, we are aware of the community’s current COVID-19 status and the impact the holiday season will likely have on infection rates within the upcoming weeks. This difficult decision is made with the health and safety of our community and musicians remaining the top priority of our organization. We will continue to monitor the evolving situation closely and will plan the remainder of our season accordingly.

However, we are excited to introduce complete, professional recordings of this season’s Opening Night and Peppermint Pops concerts for patrons to enjoy from the comfort and safety of their homes. Stay tuned for streaming information from us via e-newsletter and social media coming very soon!

On behalf of the Meridian Symphony Association’s staff and Board of Directors, we sincerely thank our patrons for their patience and cooperation. We are postponing the Winter Classical concert with only the greatest concern for the wellbeing of our community in mind, and we appreciate your support. Meridian Sounds Amazing!

Peter Rubardt, Music Director
